3) When Captain Black was talking to his cohorts and he said this quote it coincided with his thoughts of true Patriotism or the loyalty of people to their country. He believed that the more loyalty papers signed the more loyal a person was. He backed this statement up by giving the example of why people make young children pledge allegiance before they truly know what they are doing. I believe it is overexaggerated Patriotism and that his take on it is Patriotic however everyone isn't going to be as Patriotic as he may see fit. Also, he's saying that as long as people are pledging allegiance they are connected to an august body and their allegiance is to this country instead of another.

4) When Yossarian said this quote to Clevinger I believe he meant that it is possible to be killed in the line of duty by anyone. Therefore, an enemy is one that harms you and killing a person is the utmost harmful. So, it is superstition because everyone isn't out to get just one person, but the rational is life basically is everyone for themselves and when a person looks out for themselves they are mostly kept from the harm of others.

5) When Colonel Cathcart addressed Colonel Korn with this quote he seemed to have being sarcastic becasue Yossarian didn't drop his bombs the first time and went around twice. So, he was intending make Yossarian look like a fool because of his act. They eventually decided to make him captain also because he was "brave" enough to go around the target twice. The sense of guilt was Yossarian had messed up so he was already guilty now he had the Colonel's rubbing it in his face, for trying to do his duty.

Blog Three

1. Depending on my situation and how strongly I felt of the situation, I would make similar choices that Yossarian made. I believe the way he went about fighting the system showed cowardess, and I try to shy away from that. I would want to stand up and express how I felt in the proper order and system, so I could be more effective and actually get results for more people than just myself. Yes, depending on the situation. Fighting the military would be extremely hard and they are very sneaky in how to "shut people up". So I would be very cautious, but I believe it can be done. Any cause that violates another person's rights or violates a person's free will in any way. Not petty issues however issues that cause people to get taken advantage of. I would fight until the end for that.

2. When Joseph Heller says "The only freedom we have is the freedom to say no", I believe he means in life we have choices. In those choices there is a yes or no answer, however, nothing in this world is free, so picking yes come with a price. Choosing no is a freedom we are born with, because no is always an option that can't be taken from a person. I personally agree with him because through personal experience "no" is always an option that sometimes won't cost you much. For example, when saying no to drugs you cancel all the negative aspects of that decision. No is a sort of cancellation, of a life transaction. The "Just say no" catchphrase coincides well with the statement. It states our right and freedom to always say no and follow through with it.

3. If the book would have been written in a more serious manner it would not have the same effect. Actually, the book would be more mondane instead of clinching with the use of satire. It captivates and aggrevates the reader. Reader's responses would waiver if it would have been written in a more serious manner also. The use of satire in the book causes certain emotions and point of views to change and base the response on how the reader would feel if placed in a situation. I think the meaning of the book would change if it were more serious, because the point of view would be different and the mood and atmosphere of the book would change, inversely making it a different book.

Catch-22 #1

A. The difference in the two conversations are that one is about a child hood, and what he did for a purpose, or no purpose. However, the second conversation was about war and how everyone was out to get Yossarian, but the people couldn't be identified even though they were real. Nothing was resolved but in each conversation questions that weren't asked were indirectly answered by both men as they were rambling. The reason is they were too caught up in their own world to realize and focus on the question being asked, however they were answering other questions that would possibly lead up to the answer if they kept going with their ramblings of facts. Yossarian's role is changed from being the questioned to the questioner. He thinks that they are pretty self righteous or crazy while, they think he has the Jehovah Complex or some sort compared to it. Yes, they lead to the people making the assumptions of how and why he is the way he acts.

C. It means that every where else crazy people have contaminated the wards, however his particular ward is free from the craziness of the rest of the world. Yossarian shows the most insane qualities from his ramblings of him being poisoned to his ramblings of wanting to know why Orr wanted big cheeks. He impacted the ward in a very contagious way. Plus, he doesn't really contribute he is more slacker and he takes up space. For example, when he doesn't read letters and passes them along with an alias that he reciprocals every now and then.

D. I agree becasue he seems to think that every one is a Jehovah. He therefore sets himself upon a pedestal and he believes that he is greater than the others. As well as, thinking that the others think that they are better than him. He is the oxymoron to the Jehovah Complex. One moment he has it towards others then its vice versa.

Blog Post 2 and 3

2)Paradox-A paradox is like an oxymoron, because it contradicts it self.
Catch 22-A catch is a lose-lose situation, meaning either way you will lose something.

3) In the first story he says that the self-educated think too much of education. However, if a person is self edcuated why would they think so much of education. The paradox is we can be great without education, but the way society is education is what's needed to succeed. This is because many people think very highly of education, and those are the self-educated or the teachings of the self-educated and half-educated that leave almost everything to education.

In the second story he says that we complain about how overbearing the government may seem. However, we want to spread our way of government throughout the world. Also, we claim to have the best government as we complain about how much money is wasted upon many different things. This is an oxymoron of the American people. Such as eating too much when we can, or drinking too much when we can, as well as being complacent in our lives but wanting more for ourselves as well as the next generation.

I'm the baddest with words, ok not yet great.

My wrath, my fury, But yet still I chill.
And realize I am Legend Like My name was Will.
And Yes I just chill, I no deal cuz I'm thrilling.
If the beat then fulfills you then my flow overflowingly kills
the pain and the strife in peoples lives.
Too many mothers but not enough wives.
Ha... Yes pro creation, We're pros at the destroying the nation
but we killing nature, with improper nomenclature.
And If it seems I spit nonsense then you just have no sense.
Cuz my cents are doors, their sense is floors.
And I may be based on their foundation
But I am the way to a new nation.
So, if you agree with me then us become we
Because We the people are standing now taller than steeples
And as We grow then they grow. They being non believers
in the fact that we are the Ones not named Neo but sons and daughters
of the fighters, and loveliest writers that came before but they weren't the door.
Because they were the founding and we evolved to astounding,
People that can and will be, WE, because actually We the people is You and Me.
